If you aren’t seeing as much commission come in to you from your affiliate marketing efforts then you may want to look over what you are doing. It’s possible that you may have to take a step back and take a different approach. Using the right strategy can make the difference between getting checks that are average or less than average and making well above average checks. One of the first things you need to look at is the content you are putting on your site. Is it valuable to the market that you are trying to reach? If you are loading down your website with just any kind of content then it’s not going to help you or the person reading the content. People who go to a site want to be impressed, they want to know that you are on top of it and know what’s going on. So you need to make sure that your content is the most current and the most factual information out there.

Make sure that your readers can feel your emotions. They like to know that you are a real person, someone they feel like they could talk to and learn from. So you need to make it sound like you are talking directly to them. Make sure that you add some of your personality to your content that you are writing.

Make sure to add personal touches because personal touches keep you real, they will give the reader a feeling of connection with you. You don’t want to leave your readers feeling disconnected.

You need to make sure that your product reviews are real, the best way to do that is to actually buy the product yourself and use it. This way your review is going to be based upon your personal experiences and not that of others that you’ve researched. This will give the reader a far better feel for the product if they believe you’ve actually used it yourself.

Make sure too that when you are writing a review that you focus more on the benefits of the product and not it’s different features. The features are more important when they are on the actual merchants sales page and not on your promotional or review page. You are not trying to make the actual sale you are simply trying to get them to click on the product and go from there.

Try and look for more promotional sales tools to help you out. Make sure that the programs that you are working with offer some good tools. Once such tool would be brandable PDF emails that you can use and personalize, find classified ad samples you can use as guides for your own ads as well as banners that you can use. The better the quality the tool the better your promotions are going to be.

Make sure that you check the affiliates page where they sell their products and see how good of shape it’s in and ask yourself if it inspires you to buy a product from them. If you find that it doesn’t appeal to you, you might want to move onto a different product and affiliate in order for you to earn more money.

Don’t let the actual affiliate link be known to your readers. There are more people than you think that are simply mean spirited and don’t care if you get any money and they will just bypass your link and put the url in the address bar themselves. Instead hid the link by having it linked to your website and then have them redirected to the sales page after that.

How you set up your page, the content you put in it, how real you come off and the kind of ads you have all play a big part in how much commission you are going to make. So make sure that you continually try to better your site and what you do with it in order for you to get the profits you deserve.
